Brexit Update

In a statement from Chief Executive Tony Lioveri, BASEC confirms its CPR Notified Body services will continue uninterrupted post Brexit

"I would like to reassure our customers that it will be very much ‘business as usual’ regarding our Notified Body status once the UK leaves the EU on 29th March 2019.

From 29th March 2019 to 31 December 2020, the transition deal will be in place. During this time, there will be no change to the status of UK Notified Bodies and BASEC will be able to continue to provide customers with a full range of CPR testing and certification services.

Post December 2020, it is expected that the final Brexit deal will make provision to allow UK based Notified Bodies to continue to test and certify in exactly the same way as now.

However, in case this is not the outcome, BASEC is also making contingency plans to ensure that we maintain our Notified Body status.

We have already established an operation based within the European Union which is currently going through the accreditation process to enable it to become recognised as a Notified Body. We are very confident the approval will be finalised shortly

So, whatever the outcome of the final Brexit deal, BASEC will be able to offer a continued and seamless service for CPR requirements.

I appreciate that during this time our customers may have ongoing concerns or questions which we are more than happy to address. Please don’t hesitate to contact me on the number below."
