Lead Auditor - UK

Reports to: Certification and Compliance Director

Main duties:

  • Attending client sites both in the UK and overseas to carry out management systems and/or product audits in support of BASEC’s approval schemes and/or Construction Products Regulation (Cables) requirements. All as instructed by the Certification Office
  • Undertaking cable selections and pickup’s at client sites as directed
  • Dealing with assessment and technical enquiries raised by clients and feeding them back to the office in relation to the various certification schemes operated by BASEC
  • Reviewing of audit reports and responses to Non-conformities raised during audits
  • Providing assistance to the Certification Team with respect to Audit Plans, and complaints as and when required
  • Witness MV, HV and Fire testing at clients’ sites and/or test laboratories
  • Supporting the Chief Executive, Technical Director and other staff as and when required
  • Health & Safety Responsibilities.

Critical criteria:

  • Registered lead auditor for ISO 9001
  • Proven ability to meet targets
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A willingness to travel both nationally and internationally
  • The ability to work on your own and also as part of a team
  • Electrical Engineering background

Preferred criteria:

  • Registered lead auditor for ISO 14001, ISO 45001
  • Experience of cable manufacturing
  • Knowledge of cable standards

The duties are predominantly non-BASEC office based and will be performed at various locations, anywhere in the world, such as sites, factories, facilities, offices of other organisations including but not limited to clients or subcontractors. Up to 80% of a lead auditors time is spent travelling. When not auditing, Lead Auditors are expected to attend the BASEC office. The exact number of days per month in the BASEC office will be dictated by circumstances.

Regional Commercial Manager - China

Key Contacts/Relationships: BASEC Customers, stakeholders and influencers, Technical Director, Certification Manager, Laboratory Manager and direct team, business development, inside sales and territory sales managers

Relevance of Position: The Commercial Manager – China is responsible for the day to day management of all commercial activities within their region and ensure we exceed the regional sales budget as established by the CEO & Board of Directors

Major Responsibilities:

  • Achieve the regional stretched sales budget
  • Engaging BASEC market place to acquire, develop and retain an ever-growing customer base
  • Ensure BASEC brand values and strategic vision is maintained within the industry and always evangelise what we stand for
  • Ensure we have regional key account growth plans for strategic customers, strategic partnerships ensuring a customer centric view has been developed
  • Continue to enhance the BASEC business model by making it market relevant, and competitive, based upon commercial acumen, and customer insight
  • Develop regional commercial business plans, to:
    1. Increase global reach, via existing and new territory development
    2. Increase business model scope and depth of BASEC service offering
    3. Deeper penetrations into existing customers and sales conversion
    4. Development of new profitable customers
    5. Retention programmes for existing business
    6. New business funnel management growth to drive pipeline sales
  • Become a market recognised thought leader in your region
  • Make presentations on strategy for relevant region

Marketing Executive - Middle East & Africa

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Marketing Executive to join a rewarding organisation to help develop successful marketing campaigns and increase BASEC’s regional presence.

Your main duties will include:

  • Creating and executing effective marketing campaigns, with prescribed messaging and visual direction
  • Liaising with publication and partner contacts to submit campaign creatives to planned activities
  • Monitor and provide reports/analytics on campaign outcomes
  • Supporting PR activities from writing press releases to helping maintain and build press contact relationships
  • Writing print and online copy for marketing collateral
  • Technical copywriting capability
  • Ownership of key projects
  • Creating and managing social media messaging in-line with corporate branding and campaigns
  • Social media content creation
  • Monitoring campaign effectiveness
  • Supporting and implementing a successful social media strategy
  • Working closely with the Marketing Director to deliver all planned activities and with the wider Commercial team members to support regional activities
  • Supports the Commercial team with planning and delivery of influencer and stakeholder events and exhibitions
  • Drive lead generation with commercial
  • Drive stakeholder influencer engagement through regular dialogue.
  • Occasional customer and event visits, which may from time to time require out of core hours working and travelling

Relevant experience:

To be successful in this role you will have a strong marketing background working within a similar role and experience using the adobe creative suite (Photoshop and InDesign) to create, edit and finalise creatives. Knowledge of the cable market isn’t essential but would be advantageous.

You will need to demonstrate understanding and execution of social media platforms both for creating and promoting campaigns as well as optimising outcomes from key touchpoints.

You will have excellent copy writing and proof-reading skills, and the flexibility to adapt to change and take on board the variety of platforms for communication.

You will have some project management experience and will have the ability to use spreadsheets to analyse data and spot trends.

A degree or professional qualification in Marketing (CIM or IDM) would be advantageous.

Minimum 3-5 years demonstrated Marketing experience in B2B marketing.
