Marketing Communications Executive
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Marketing & Communications Executive to join a rewarding organisation to help develop successful marketing campaigns and increase BASEC’s global and national presence.
Main duties will include:
- Creating effective marketing communication campaigns
- Monitor and provide reports/analytics on campaign outcomes
- Supporting PR activities from writing press releases to helping maintaining press contact relationships
- Writing print and online copy for marketing collateral
- Technical copy writing capability
- Contributing towards marketing campaigns creation & execution
- Ownership of key projects
- Creating and managing social media messaging in-line with corporate branding and campaigns
- Social media content creation
- Monitoring campaign effectiveness
- Supporting a successful social media strategy
- Occasional client visits and events in the UK and overseas which may from time to time require out of core hours working and travelling
- Provide support and enabling function to Marketing Manager
Marketing and Communications Executive Experience:
To be successful in this role you will have a strong marketing background working within a similar role. Knowledge of the cable market isn’t essential but would be advantageous.
You will need to demonstrate understanding and execution of social media platforms both for creating and promoting campaigns as well as optimising outcomes from key touch-points.
You will have excellent copy writing and proof reading skills, and the flexibility to adapt to change and take on board the variety of platforms for communication.
You will have some project management experience and will have the ability to use spreadsheets to analyse data and spot trends.
A professional qualification in Marketing (CIM or IDM) would be advantageous.

Cable Test Technician(Mechanical, Electrical and Fire)
There is an exciting opportunity for a versatile multi skilled test technician to join our team.
To conduct cable sample preparation using knives and cutters (hand, hydraulic and band saw)
To undertake testing, as assigned, within determined competencies and authorisations.
To check the performance and calibration status of test equipment, liaising with the Technical Supervisor to ensure equipment in use meets the required specification.
To contribute towards the maintenance and operation of new and existing laboratory facilities, practices and procedures to enable testing work to be carried out in a way that meets BASEC’s, its clients and accreditation needs.
To ensure that test procedures are followed correctly to enable accreditation to be maintained.
To ensure the quality and safety procedures are followed within the designated laboratory areas, to meet policy and legislative requirements.
To manage own workload effectively and liaise with other staff members as appropriate to maximise the utilisation of the laboratory resources.
To keep the Team Leader/Laboratory Manager informed of the progression of test work in the laboratory such that the client can be informed of any delays, non-compliances, etc.
To carry out preliminary inspections to ensure submissions are as agreed, initiating any remedial action required by liaising with the Team Leader/Laboratory Manager.
To develop technical competence by studying standards and undertaking supervised testing associated with the normal product group within the laboratory.
GCSE Grade C and above in all subjects including Maths, English and Science.
Degree or qualification in Engineering is desirable.
This role will be based in BASEC laboratory, Crownhill Milton Keynes. MK8 0ES.
Experience of using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Must be able to handle and move large cables and equipment
Must have good manual dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination
