Q: What samples do I need to send?
A: Details of all the sample requirements for type approval or CPR are included in your original quote. If you are unsure or have any queries, please contact your regional Sales Executive.
Q: How do I label my samples and where do I send them?
A: Please refer to Rules for Shipping Samples to BASEC for full details about submitting your samples. Click on the link to access the document.
Q: Who selects samples for CPR System 1+
A: If your cables are being CPR tested under System 1+, the samples must be picked from the manufacturer by a BASEC representative.
Q: What happens to samples after testing?
A: All samples are confidentially disposed of after testing, with materials recycled where appropriate.
Q: How long does type testing take?
A: Once we have received payment, testing is normally completed within 8 weeks. A fast track option is available. Please contact us for details.
Q: How long does CPR testing take?
A: CPR testing normally takes between 4 and 6 weeks to complete, but talk to us if you have a specific deadline and we will do our best to meet it.
Q: We've had a test failure, what happens now?
A: If you wish, you can request a re-test, or send in an alternative sample for testing. There is a charge for this service - contact us for details.
Q: Can we use the BASEC marks on our sales and marketing materials?
A: Yes. Once you have been awarded BASEC Product Approval and / or Management systems Approval, you are entitled to use the appropriate BASEC marks.
