Control and instrumentation cable standards

BASEC approves control and instrumentation cables to the following standards:

BS 6231

This is the primary British standard for single core instrument wire and includes the higher temperature rated type known as "tri-rated" (which means it simultaneously complies with British, American (UL) and Canadian (CSA) standards.)  See BS 7450 for additional application guidance.

BS 5308

This is the British standard for control and instrumentation cables. A wide range of options is available which can suit many industrial requirements.  See BS 7450 for application guidance.
