Suspension is a temporary measure applied while investigations are undertaken. Manufacturers are not able to use the BASEC certification marks during this period. Under BASEC's rules certification will be reinstated, or certification will be withdrawn, within two months.

With effect from Monday 3 September 2012, the BASEC product marking licence issued to Altin Kablo San. A. S., which was suspended on 16 July 2012, has been reinstated.
