Cables head speaks at major Paris event

The Chief Executive of the British Approvals Service for Cables (BASEC) is one of the key speakers at a major worldwide conference for the wire and cable industry to be held in Paris in June.

Dr Jeremy Hodge, Chief Executive of BASEC, will be speaking on certification in the cable market and the marketing benefits of  product approval.

The conference programme, from 10-12 June, is concentrating on the theme of Creating Value and Controlling Risk in the wire and cable industry.

The first day will focus on creating value in the cables business and materials management in a volatile price environment.

This will be followed by a second day of parallel sessions on power cable, OEM cable and will incorporate the KMI Fibre-optics Conference.

Dr Hodge said: "This is an opportunity to exchange the very latest news and information in the industry and we want to ensure that BASEC is helping to shape future thinking."

Other speakers at the event, being held at the Rive Gauche Hotel and Conference Centre, include Dr Valerio Battista, Chief Executive Officer Prysmian, Greg Kenny, Chief Executive Officer General Cable, Martin Abbott, Chief Executive London Metal Exchange and Pascal Portevin, Executive Vice President -Strategic Operations Nexans.
