Low Voltage Directive and CE Marking

BASEC can provide manufacturers, traders and end users with technical advice and support in connection with the European Low Voltage Directive and CE marking.

BASEC is a Notified Body under the Low Voltage Directive and can provide a number of statutory and advisory services as set out in the Directive.  The UK's Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS, formerly DTI) regularly assesses BASEC's technical capability to maintain the Notification.

Any party involved in trading into and within Europe products falling within the scope of the Low Voltage Directive have responsibilities defined under the Directive.  A summary of these responsibilities can be obtained from BASEC.
